Yves Rocher beauty products

Yves Rocher always seems slightly seedy and low-budget, bombarding you with offers in the back pages of the Women’s Weekly and via your letterbox. Some of their products are cheap and nasty. But there are some gems, real stars which are cheap as chips and work like a bomb. You need to weed out what suits you from their large selection, but they do make it easier for you by always offering you gifts with purchase. I have found almost all my favourites this way.

Sweden has brick and mortar Yves Rocher stores as well as a webshop. I don’t shop there often but when I do, I tend to stock up on my essentials when they have discounts and freebies. Their freebies can also be hit and miss but my best ever manicure set came to me as a gift with purchase at Yves Rocher.

I have tried most of their products and, as I mentioned above, they tend to be hit and miss. Nothing has ever been awful, but there are things I don’t find outstanding. They have some nice shower gels, but they don’t last as long as similar items from The Body Shop, which smell more authentic. Some of their cleansing wipes sting my face, and their lipsticks aren’t great for me.

But I absolutely adore:

  • 360° Length Mascara
  • Purbleuet Express Eye Makeup Remover (shown above)
  • Serum Vegetal Smoothing Cleansing Wipes (shown above)
  • Riche Creme Ultra-Rich Cleansing Cream (shown above and below)
  • Riche Creme Comforting Anti-wrinkle Mask (shown above)
  • Riche Creme Body Lotion (shown above)

In fact, I have used YR’s Express 2-phase Eye Makeup Remover exclusively for at least ten years. This  two-phase eye makeup remover knocks the spots of the much pricier Lancôme Bi-Facil. It does not irritate and quickly dissolves  even the most stubborn mascara. Usually on 50% off or 2 for 1 at Yves Rocher so I bulk buy twice a year. If they ever discontinue this I shall cry!

My new favourite is shown above – it is a creamy facial cleansing gel that you put on dry skin and massage in until it turns into an oil. You then rinse it off. It rinses off easily and leaves your skin feeling nice and clean without being tight or dry.  It is a very recent discovery and I am in love! I received it as a freebie, did not realise that your face and hands had to be dry to apply it, and used it with wet face and hands instead. That did not work. Then one day – totally by accident – I figured it out and since then have been in love with it.
