Kayali Eden Juicy Apple 01 Eau De Parfum

In recent years, I have not been one for smellies. In my youth I used to drench myself in Body Shop Dewberry, and then progressed to YSL Paris, Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers, Calvin Klein Escape, CK be, and Estée Lauder Pleasures. I used to spray quite liberally and think back in horror at how many people I probably almost asphyxiated as I wafted past. Luckily I never went for the very heavy 80s scents like Giorgio Beverley Hills or YSL Opium.

For the past 17 years I have almost eschewed perfume altogether. I use unscented or lightly scented skincare and hair products,  I hardly ever wear perfume (maybe once every two years) and if I do, it’s Antonia’s Flowers. Strong smells really bother me, and I have clients who are allergic to perfume so it is just not part of my universe anymore.

The other day though, I received a sample of Kayali Eden Juicy Apple 01 eau de parfum. I usually throw away perfume samples without even trying me but the notion of an apple perfume intrigued me, so I tried it and found I really liked it. Kayali is the perfume arm of Huda Beauty (I use their mascara) and you can layer the different perfumes to create your own scent. I am not confident enough to try that but I liked the 1.5ml sample spray so much that I have ordered a 10ml bottle to see how I get on with it. I won’t be able to wear it to work, but maybe over weekends? Read more about Kayali here
