African Extracts has been one of my favourite beauty ranges for decades.
I loved it as soon as I first saw it in 2002. To be honest, as good as it was, I expected it to disappear in a year or so. Many good local African brands do, drowned out by the international beauty giants with their huge advertising budgets.
I am so happy to have been proven wrong. African Extracts has grown from strength to strength, becoming a bestseller, and is available in South African supermarkets, pharmacies, and chainstores. It is also available internationally, and if the prices are not too high, I will try to order some when this lot runs out.
I am not a huge fan of Rooibos tea, though it is very popular in Sweden. But I love the smell of these products, and the fact that they are mild, gentle, and cheap. It’s quite hard to find wipe-off cleaners and this range has several that suit my skin, for $4 per 250ml. My favourite products are the cleansers and toners, and the facial wipes.
