I have read over the years that some of Lidl and Aldi’s beauty products are pretty good, particularly given the price point. It is said that both Aldi and Lidl have some dupes of really pricey products, like La Mer, Drunk Elephant, and Glossier. Personally, I have never found any life-altering creams and potions there, but they do what they should, at a lower price point than most places.
I love Lidl’s tissues and cotton pads. These are honestly the best tissues I have ever used and the price used to be ridiculously low. In 2023, prices have risen significantly but are still affordable.
Recently, the facial moisturisers shown above were on a ‘temporary visit’ to the store and each one was the last one on the shelf. So I snapped them up – it cost $8 for both. The night cream was in a matching box.
They are not bad actually. Not the best creams for my skin that I have ever tried, but they worked and would be perfect on skins that are younger and less dry than my own.
Their facial cleanser (which you can rinse or wipe off) and their creamy face mask for mature skin are also great for the price. Once again, at that price point you cannot go wrong. They are perfectly competent products at a great price. The cleanser was $2 and the mask was less than $1.
I have also tried three of their hair masks (yellow, green and orange), which worked well.
I usually also have a scratch in their clothing section. Two of my favourite pairs of jeans come from there. I have also bought lovely thick leggings with various pattens, sports bras (which actually fit), tank tops and cardigans.
In short, if you are on a budget or want to try something new that won’t break the bank, I would try some of these.
