My local beauty shops and department stores tend to bring in a few indie or cult brands and then discontinue them after a year or so. Maybe these stores like to have a rotating roster of buzzy new brands, or maybe the products don’t sell as well as expected. There are instances where there is a reformulation of products or change in product design and the old ones are phased out.

Holifrog was one of them that got the chop in our local department store just before Christmas. I was never interested in trying this brand, but a giant discount (all products reduced to $10 from up to $70), a points voucher, and finding out that Holifrog do a cleansing powder led me to buy this one.

I am so glad I did because this is actually by far the best cleansing powder I have tried. You can adjust the intensity of the exfoliation by adding more or less water. Unlike the others I have tried, this forms a nice thick paste. You could probably leave it on for a while like a mask. You can also mix it into other cleansers.

The container is a generous 71g, compared to the Clinique which is only 14g.

I also bought a scrub and a mask, both also $10 reduced from $49 and $67 respectively.
