I was not sure what to call the reusable version of a cotton bud, because it is almost certainly not cotton. Ear bud? But they are not just for ears, and some people may think ear buds are what you use to listen to music. Anyhoo…
Reusable cotton pads and buds have been around for a while, but I have never used them. I use flannel cloths and muslin cloths to clean my face and just bung them in the washing machine on a hot wash. When they start looking threadbare or a bit grey, I repurpose them to clean other things. But pads and buds seem like they would need more of a cleaning. And don’t get me started on how squeamish I feel about reusable tissues. I have flashbacks of stirring my father’s cotton hankies in a big pot of boiling water and soap on the stove to get rid of ‘everything’. Hankies used to be more common than tissues but carrying snot around in your pocket and then washing it out seemed….ewwww.
The site Last Object sells reusable items such as tissues, cleansing pads, sanitary pads, buds, and laundry bags. You can buy them individually, as refills or in kits. I was wondering if any of my readers have used any of these or similar products. If so, what do you think of them?
