Ultrasonic cleaner

I have had two of the below sonic jewel cleaners by Connoisseur. I bought them because at the time I already used Connoisseur jewellery cloths, dips, dazzle stick pens, and foam for both silver and gold jewellery. This model was not pricey and was rather light and plasticky. The first one I had lasted a year and I was happy with it so I bought another one. They were gentle on my jewellery, battery operated and very compact. The cleaner came with its own jewel cleaning solution. Looking back, it was more of a gimmick that basically just vibrated, but I did like using it and it never damaged anything.

Since my second sonic cleaner broke, I have simply soaked my jewellery in hot water and dishwashing liquid. I then brush it lightly with a small, soft brush. For tarnished items I use silver dip and a polishing cloth. For sparkle I use a Connoisseur dazzle stick. I love keeping my jewellery nice and clean. It’s a very calming ritual for me.

My husband recently bought me an ultrasonic cleaner from Amazon. This one is solid, and has a steel interior. It is able to clean glasses, watches, jewellery, beauty tools. So far I love it. The best part is seeing all the dirt and grime coming out from tiny, hard to clean crevasses and carvings. I have wanted one for a while but never got round to buying one.

I will never use this for anything containing tiny stones or that is old, delicate and coated (like my glasses lenses), but for other things it will be in constant use.
