One thing I love about Africa is the plethora of products and accessories for curly hair. You really are spoiled for choice if you are a curlylocks.
- to the left, the brown and black scrunchies in three sizes were made by my best friend from a silk scarf.
- the yellow scrunchie with pink pompoms has a pineapple print on it which I love because I am from pineapple country
- the large deep green and smaller black and white scrunchies are from Krulkop society. I almost bought a purple Pucci-like print but stopped myself
- the bright blue print is made from shweshwe, traditional South African printed cloth. Gifted to me by a beloved family member
- the blue and cream scrunchie to the bottom right was also made by my bestie (who sews the most amazing things). It is fabulously soft and light so you can lie on the sofa with your head on a pillow without feeling a bump
- the comb at the bottom was gifted to me by the owner of Krulkop Society. I have seen this type of comb before but never thought of trying one. It is magical. The widely spaced teeth give you nicely defined curls. I am so glad I discovered it, but am sorry it took me so long!
- This is the person who helped me at the Krulkop stand at a local market. She was full of great advice, her products were amazing, and she was surround by a rainbow of curly girls all asking her about her products. You can see all the great products in the video, as well as the gorgeous Pucci print with which I fell in love.
And here are two more gorgeous things my friend made for me. I love them!
