Moleskine_ruled_notebook,_inside_view

Yep, I have lots of notebooks, beauty products, handbags, jewellery. I honestly love each and every one of them. I try to rotate all of them so they each have a chance to be used.

But sometimes things don’t work. As beautiful as they are, they may be the wrong size, a bit awkward to use, not work as well as I had hoped, or not look quite right.

What do I do with them then? I am an avid recycler of most things I cannot use.

  • magazines go to the local hairdresser/pizza takeaway/charity shop/medical centre/school and old age home.
  • shampoo is used to wash delicate clothing or as a shower gel
  • conditioner is used as a fabric softener or a shaving cream
  • cheap facial moisturisers used as hand cream or body lotion
  • bound notebooks given to my students to use for their notes or the pages taken out and punched for use in my Filofax
  • makeup bags used as pencil cases or vice versa
  • lipstick used as cheek gloss (only use a teeny bit!)
  • blusher used as eye shadow (only use a little bit)
  • necklaces used as bracelets or belts
  • short chains joined together to make long ones
  • scarves used to replace removable handbag straps or used as belts
  • keyrings or jewellery used to make Filofax or Midori charms
  • dull, boring cardigans, jackets or coats can have the buttons replaced with funky unusual ones.
